9th Howard W. Smith Lecture in Facial Plastic Surgery

Daniel Alam, MD

Dan Alam, MD

Daniel Alam, MD, is the Head of the Section of Facial Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Head and Neck Institute of Cleveland Clinic. His practice is focused on facial plastic surgery, from minimally invasive cosmetic procedures to complex microvascular reconstructions of major facial injuries or cancer resections. Dr. Alam graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as its valedictorian in 1996. Having already decided in medical school to pursue a career in facial plastics surgery, he pursued his surgical training with an internship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in general surgery. He followed with four years of residency in the Harvard Medical School Program in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. After completing his training in Boston he completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the UCLA Medical Center and served on the faculty as a Clinical Instructor in Facial Plastic Surgery.
