On December 1, 2015, the completely renovated, state-of-the art otolaryngology physicians’ offices opened at the Harkness Pavilion of Columbia University Medical Center. Located at the heart of the campus, the historic Harkness Pavilion is one of the original medical center buildings, dating back to the 1920s. The modernized otolaryngology facility is part of a $5 million renovation. It occupies most of the seventh floor and includes 14 patient rooms. A comfortable waiting suite and adjacent space for support staff allows for increased efficiency and convenience for patients.
The newly renovated exam space in the Harkness Pavilion is a major step forward for our patients.
"We now have a facility that equals the quality and excellence of our physicians, audiologists and practitioners."
– Dr. Lawrence Lustig, Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, oversaw the renovation.
In addition, two brand new conference rooms feature sweeping views of the Hudson River and the midtown Manhattan skyline. The expanded clinical space coincides with a national recruitment effort to bring several additional subspecialized experts in ear, nose, and throat care to Columbia.
